About the Club
The Wheeling Skate Club is in it's 55th year and we are proud to continue the tradition in Wheeling, in conjunction with the Wheeling Park White Palace.

The club is often mistaken as a club that just teaches children how to ice skate, that isn't the case at all. Our Club offers 4 type of skating categories:

DUE TO COVID SNOW PLOW SAM WILL NOT BE OFFERED

Snow Plow Sam
Preschool-age skaters develop preliminary coordination and strength to move around on the ice. The introductory classes are divided into four progressive levels for kids with no prior skating experience to build confidence in skating and themselves. Fun and games make this positive experience for your kids enjoyable and memorable. This class goes to age 5, once you move on from SPS you MUST choose one of the following programs. We don't offer a basic learn to skate class for ages 5 and above it will either be figure skating, hockey or speed.

LESSONS WE OFFER

Figure Skating Lessons Learn to Skate USA's figure skating programs offer skaters the opportunity to explore the various disciplines of figure skating in a fun and challenging group environment. Skaters in these levels will learn jumps, spins, choreography and more, so it is essential that skaters master the basic skills curriculum before entering these more specialized classes

IF YOUR CHILD DOES NOT WANT TO FIGURE SKATE SEE THE OPTIONS BELOW

Hockey
Designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey skating, the four badge levels, plus power skating, will teach skaters how to be more proficient and agile on the ice. Proper techniques for the game of hockey are the primary focus and all elements are taught without a puck. Skaters will learn the basic hockey stance, stride, knee bend, and other necessary fundamentals to be successful.

Speed
The Learn to Speed Skate curriculum introduces skaters to the basics of speed skating and provides motivation to continue improving skating while developing speed and coordination.
